SmackDown Live's first PPV since the 2016 draft is almost here. This will be the first real test to see if SmackDown has what it takes to challenge RAW show why SmackDown is the best place for opportunity. Here is our prediction for this Sunday's Backlash.
The Miz (w/ Maryse) vs. Dolph Ziggler (Intercontinental Championship Match)
After The Miz's exploded in Danial Bryan's face on an episode of Talking Smack, everyone was finally paying attention to The Miz. Was he telling the truth? Or was it just another impressive promo performed by one of the best on mic talents in the WWE? That question may never be answered, but in classic WWE fashion, they stop any momentum they had with the Miz and brought it to a screeching halt by pitting him against the Showoff, Dolph Ziggler.
Prediction: The Miz retains the intercontinental Title
Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt
After getting his head opened up by the Beast, Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, Randy Orton finds himself the prey of the self-proclaimed god of the WWE, Bray Wyatt. This one is tricky. Bray has not had any sort of big push ever since the 2016 draft and putting him in a match with arguably the biggest name SmackDown has, (Other than John Cena or AJ Styles) seems like the most logical choice to help Bray look like he's a legitimate threat for the WWE World Championship. Though there are not many superstars standing in his way of achieving this goal, but will this be the match the WWE final start paving the road for Bray Wyatt? My head says yes but heart, sadly says no.
Prediction: WWE continues to bury Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton wins
The Usos vs. The Hype Bros
