2016 might go down as the worst year in history. It also had some huge stinkers at the box office as well. Here the worst films of 2016. Enjoy!
1. How to Be Single
When I first saw the trailer to How to Be Single, I liked it. I'm a sucker for a good RomCom and Rebel Wilson isn't a bad draw either, so I was mildly optimistic that I would have some fun with this movie. Unfortunately How to Be Single has some of the most unlikable characters I have ever seen. In these types of films, you are supposed to relate to the main character, see yourself in the character, and sympathize with their struggles. You won't get that with How to Be Single.
2. Dirty Grandpa
Every great actor has done a film like Dirty Grampa. A film so uncomfortable that every passing second you wished you were watching the movie Twilight instead. Robert De Niro looks like he's phoning in his performance and just waiting to get his paycheck. To Zac Efron's credit, he has grown as an actor and is really trying in this film, but it's too little too late to save this train wreck of a film.
3. Ride Along 2
I liked the first Ride Along film and Kevin Hart is one of my favorite comedians as of late. So when a second Ride Along film was announced I was happy to once again see the Hart and Ice Cube's amazing chemistry on the big screen. But like all of the films on this list, Ride Along 2 is a massive let down.
4. The Divergent Series: Allegiant
This might not be a popular thing to say, but I like YA films. As a 27 year old man I'm not ashamed to express my love for the genre. And also not ashamed to say when YA film is a steaming pile of trash. That's what the Divergent series has turned into. Things are so bad for the franchise that Lions Gate announced that the fourth film will be a turned into a TV series.
5. The Brothers Grimsby
Like Dirty Grampa, The Brothers Grimbsy is horrifically uncomfortable to watch. I know Sacha Baron Cohen started his main stream movie career with these kind of films, but he has shown that he's a far better actor than this.
